All of the outstanding shares of the company have been bought by Mary Jane Cabral and her daughter, Lisa Cabral.

The new owners of the 18 year old business are already making changes aimed at building annual sales past $750,000.

Mrs. Cabral is about to retire from the Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son, after 27 years to help build the business.

Already the family has changed some of their East Coast suppliers, intending to take full advantage of daily flights from Boston, ensuring a fresher product.

For the junior Cabral, ownership of the business is a long-time dream.

Her father, Reggie Cabral, said, "Lisa had worked at The House of Flowers as a teenager, during school vacations. She always enjoyed it and worked in various parts of the business.

"But she always said, even when she was very young and doing floral deliveries around Hamilton for the company, that she wanted to one day own a flower shop business. So for her, it is like a dream come true.'' But Mr. Cabral said that Lisa, who works with a local law firm, does not intend to give up her current career.

The company is now looking to build on its client base, which also includes hundreds of charge account customers.
