Man admits attacking former girlfriend
ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend last year over a dress he bought his daughter.
Shawn Simmons, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to assaulting Nikisha Dill and Ricardo Walker on November 9, 1997, at their home on Sousa Estate Road, Devonshire.
He also pleaded guilty before Senior Magistrate Will Francis to unlawfully entering Ms Dill's home on that date.
Prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor told the court Simmons went to Dill's home with a dress he had bought for their then four-year-old daughter.
A short time later Simmons became enraged after the little girl was presented to him for visitation in different clothes.
Sgt. Taylor said Simmons forced his way into the house and pushed Dill to the floor.
Simmons then got into a fight with Walker during which he tried to poke out the man's eyes.
Mr. Francis said: "I know you have a daughter with her and I would hope you keep at arm's length when you go there. Another altercation and I could re-sentence you.''
