Smith's Parish. Recent renovations have completely transformed the familiar South Shore site, giving it more spacious aisles and a greater range of products to complement its friendly, helpful staff. According to Barry Jones, the store's pharmacist/manager, the idea was to provide customers with a more pleasant shopping environment. "The main idea behind the renovations is to make the store more spacious for the shopper,'' he said. "The renovations started at the beginning of February and I think it's going to be a real nice place to shop. The dispensary will be bigger and we used to have five aisles and we will now have four which allows them to be wider and gives the appearance of a much roomier shopping environment. Each row of aisles used to be split in two with a gap separating them. We've eliminated the gap and made the aisles continuous. By lengthening them, we hope to give a greater variety to our customers. "I think the pharmacy has been without renovations since it was first opened in the early seventies,'' he added. "We've done it all with the customer in mind. Generally, it will be a nicer environment with more room for our customers. I think it will be nice to walk into the shop and not feel crowded in.'' Mr. Jones said that he was first employed as a pharmacist by the Apothecary's owners, Phoenix Stores Ltd., since 1980. "Over the last four or We're a family! Collector's Hill Apothecary,'' he said. "I've worked here before as a pharmacist and I've always thought of the staff as a very friendly one, almost like a family unit. We work well together and that makes it easier for me as a manager. It's a pleasure to work with them all.'' Renovations at the pharmacy, which was fully operational throughout the overhaul, should be complete by March 15, said Mr. Jones.

"Basically it will be almost a whole new shop. There will be a complete facelift of the store -- a new floor, new fixtures, new ceiling, signs, counter and dispensary -- everything.
