Jobs website launched

Matching jobs and people: Simon Turner

Those looking for jobs on the Island can now tackle their employment search with the point and click of a mouse.

Looking for employment from a web browser is now possible with yesterday's launch of BermudaJOBS.com website.

BermudaJOBS.com partner Simon Turner said the site targets candidates based on and off the island and local employers. Candidates are able to search for jobs meeting specific criteria, review information about job vacancies and apply online direct to the employer.

Candidates can also register with BermudaJOBS.com and submit their resume along with other information that enables BermudaJOBS.com to match them against job vacancies.

On a daily or weekly basis the candidate can sign up to receive e-mails notifying them of new positions that match their profile. The site also gives information on Immigration policies and has links to sites on relocating to the Island.

Mr. Turner said the company's revenue will come from employers who will be able to post jobs for a fee. By registering with BermudaJOBS.com, employers can start posting their job vacancies immediately. Those candidates who are interested in the job posting will apply directly to the employer.

Those seeking employment are able to use the site for free and Mr. Turner said job candidates choose which jobs to apply for and thereby protecting their identity.

The company is however offering Island employers the opportunity to list jobs on the site, free of charge, through March 31, 2002, for a period of 30 days.

BermudaJOBS.com is also a recruitment company. President Douglas Soares said: "We have set up this business to provide a variety of employment related services on an outsourcing basis. BermudaJOBS.com is not just a place to post vacancies. We are a full service recruitment management company."
