Ball to meet staff
Memorial Hospital later this week before deciding what further action is to be taken in the ongoing dispute over programme managers.
Mr. Ball, General Secretary of the Bermuda Public Services Association, is back at the helm after spending the past two weeks abroad on business.
While he was away more than 100 staff from all the hospital's departments signed a petition expressing their concern at what they believe is a lack of consultation between management and workers over the implementation of the programme management restructure.
On his first day back at work yesterday Mr. Ball said: "I am going to meet with hospital staff but I am not in a position to comment on any developments at the moment.
"It's been my first day back and I am still getting to the bottom of a lot of emotions.'' Earlier this week BPSA acting General Secretary Stephen Emery suggested that some form of industrial action could take place if an agreement between the two parties was not reached soon.
