No rest for Cougars
three days tonight when action returns to Devonshire Rec. with a Friendship and Shield double-header.
Cougars take on Somerset Trojans in the 9.00 Friendship clash, while Somerset Eagles clash with Hamilton Parish in the Second Division Shield at 7.00.
The Trojans are the present holders of the Shield, having won it in April when they beat Prospect in the final. But it is a trophy they are happy not to be eligible to defend, as they are now back in the First Division. However, a win in the Friendship will be important for them as they have suffered defeats in their last two league matches and need to get back on the winning track.
Cougars, too, are anxious for victory, something they should have managed on Tuesday night against Hotels when they had to settle for a draw despite dominating play.
Hamilton Parish, fresh off a good 4-1 win over St. David's on Sunday, should be firm favourites over an Eagles side that was hammered 7-1 by Wolves on the weekend.
St. George's All-Stars and Forties will be back in action at BAA Field (9.00), sore limbs and all, when they attempt to settle their FA Cup elimination round tie. All-Stars should have settled it on Tuesday when they blew a 2-0 lead.
The winners meet St.George's Colts in the first round on Sunday.
