Communications Ltd Status: In the process of incorporation Staff: No employees In NAT's submission, it is stated that start-up costs will be borne by the applicant, and financed by a public share offering. The company will be listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
NAT has pledged to provide an integrated digital network, capable to providing voice, data and video services for local and international use. The network will accommodate switched services, LAN interconnectivity, private lines, and video services.
Mr. DeFontes is president of DeFontes Broadcasting (Television) Limited, which produces VSB Television, and DeFontes Television Centre Limited.
He is a major shareholder in both Ingham & Wilkinson Ltd. and Electronic Communications Ltd., a supplier of radio communications equipment and services.
Mr. DeFontes is also a substantial shareholder in Bermuda Cablevision Ltd., and has a holding in Infonet Ltd., a local company that carried out a study of telecommunications in Bermuda.
"It is intended that agreements will only be with carriers in Bermuda as all international traffic is to be handled through Cable & Wireless,'' the submission said.
