Fined for swearing at Police officers
George's man $400 yesterday in Magistrates' Court.
Clifton Anderson, of Mullet Bay Road, pleaded guilty to using offensive language and wilfully damaging the property of the Bermuda Government.
Police Prosecutor Sgt. Kenrick James said on September 26 while Police were on patrol they saw a green car run a stop sign.
When Police stopped the car, Anderson -- a passenger -- became abusive and started swearing at the officers. According to Sgt. James, Anderson then pushed a Police officer's face against a window while saying: "You're always stopping me you stinking cop.'' When he was taken to St. George's Police Station Anderson punched a picture on a wall, breaking the glass cover.
Anderson told Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. Edward King: "I get stopped every day, I'm getting tired of it.'' He added that breaking the glass of the picture was an accident.
