The popular walk generally draws about 2,000 participants. It will take place on Sunday at 2 p.m. and highlight historically important sites such as Gates Fort, Alexandra's Battery and the Unfinished Church.

Fort St. Catherine will also been open to the public this Sunday courtesy of the Fort and Historic Sites Division of the Parks.

"We look forward to seeing a good crowd of walkers this year, as it will be an excellent opportunity for people to remind themselves of the incredible historic nature of St. George's,'' said walk organiser Cathy Gosling.

The route this year is: Park at Tiger Bay Parking lot. Over Penno's Drive Hill and east along York Street to Custom's Square, cross to Water Street and go east to Barrack Hill.

Go over Barrack Hill along Cut Road and then Barry Road to Fort St. Catherine.

From there, walkers will head west along Coot Pond Road, over Naval Tanks Hill to Government Hill Road and around the Unfinished Church to Governor's Alley.

The walk then winds its way west through the old town with some interesting old buildings to look at along the way. The route goes up the stairs off of Old Maid's Lane to the St. George's Club and crosses over to Rose Hill Road and then to Khyber Pass via South Prison Road.

From Khyber Pass the route heads west down Style Hill and back to Tiger Bay to the second refreshment stop.
