Unruly students push bus driver to call for help
Police were called in to deal with unruly students on a school bus yesterday after the bus driver pulled over and made a complaint.
Two Police cars sped to Rural Hill in Paget at 3.40 p.m. after the driver reported that the children were out of control.
The Public Transportation Board is holding a meeting this morning with the driver to establish the facts. But it is understood the driver was not injured.
PTB assistant director Dan Simmons will meet the driver and the supervisor who is investigating the incident.
PTB director Herman Basden said yesterday he was unable to give details about the incident because he had not yet received a report from the supervisor.
He said: "After we find out from them what happened we will be approaching the school concerned. I haven't heard of anyone injured. But tomorrow we should have all the facts about this.'' A Police spokeswoman said: "We got a report of unruly children on a PTB bus on South Road in Paget at 3.40 p.m.''
