The West Indian Association, in conjunction with the radio station, will be holding a radiothon.

And association president Mr. Foster Burke said they hoped to raise $12,000 through the event and others planned for the future.

"It would be nice to reach $10,000 from this event alone,'' he said.

He noted the association expected to receive some $3,000 from a dance held last Saturday. And the play "Old Story Time'', by a Jamaican playwright, will be held at City Hall from November 16 to 18.

Proceeds from the play, the dance, and the radiothon would be matched by Government dollar for dollar.

The radiothon will run from 6 p.m. to midnight on Saturday. A taped interview with Bermuda Red Cross' director Mr. Frank Gamble and taped messages from an Antiguan government Minister will be played during the radiothon.

The Minister will describe the damage that Antigua and other Caribbean Islands suffered particularly during Hurricane Luis and what was needed to rebuild.

The Red Cross has set up Radiothon accounts at the Banks of Bermuda and Butterfield.
