Speaker wins praise from MPs
the new owners of the Harmony Club.
The Club was taken over recently by a group of Bermudians -- including House Speaker Ernest DeCouto -- who thanks MPs for their support.
Shadow Sports Minister Nelson Bescome led the way with the congratulations -- and was backed by Tourism Minister David Dodwell .
Mr. Bascome also congratulated the Bermuda Girls in Training and many MPs including the PLP's Reginald Burrows , Technology Minister John Barritt and Sports Minister Tim Smith all congratulated the Berkeley Institute which won the debating High School championships.
Education Minister Jerome Dill also congratulated Warwick Secondary school who put out a young team in the debates and gave an excellent performance.
The runners-up in the championship were Mount St. Agnes, who were also praised by MPs.
Mr. Smith also congratulated the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Club and the Coral Beach Club for staging their invitational events.
Premier David Saul also expressed his condolences to the family of the late Lady Dill who, he said, was known for her charming wit and the tremendous amount of community and social work she carried out for the people of Bermuda.
