Rain causes MCC match cancellation
between the visiting Marylebone Cricket Club and a BCBC Select.
A waterlogged Southampton Oval greeted members of both teams and it became apparent to officials that no play would be possible.
The match had been designed to offer several of Bermuda's rising young cricketers the opportunity to play against first class opposition ahead of the upcoming Under-19 Regional tournament to be hosted locally.
However, it would appear Mother Nature has scuppered such designs, with the national team set to provide opposition for the final two fixtures today and tomorrow at Lord's, although bad weather is also forecast for Sunday.
The senior team will be anxious to prove themselves as more than walkovers, as was the case last weekend when poor batting among the top order let them down.
Furthermore they were shown up by a BCBC Select side on Tuesday, with the self-proclaimed `Rebels' taking the fight to the tourists and coming within seven runs of victory before capitulating.
