34-year-old Warwick woman in hospital with a broken shoulder.

The woman said she was travelling west on Rural Hill in Paget shortly after 2 a.m. yesterday when she noticed a motorcycle approaching from behind.

She felt a tug on her knapsack which was secured around her shoulders, and said the rider of the motorcycle pulled so hard that she fell off her bike.

As a result, she received a fractured right shoulder, swelling to the mouth, and numerous abrasions to her body.

She was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she received treatment and was later discharged.

A Police spokesman warned people to ensure that if they must take bags and other valuables with them on their bikes, to secure them out of sight.

He said: "This kind of thing happens from time to time so we would advise people to be aware of it. If they don't have to take along bags and valuables, then leave them at home.'' Police are also appealing for the male motorist who stopped to assist the victim and called the ambulance to contact P.c. Adrian Cook of Central CID at 295-0011.
