Police probe armed robbery and thefts

The 21-year-old woman reports she was riding north on Pitts Bay Road when she noticed two men following her.
When she reached her destination on the North Shore at Ingham's Vale, the men rode past, but once she began walking to the building, a man accosted her.
He grabbed her by the waist and with a knife, began cutting her purse strap.
Another man hit her with what Police describe as a stick.
The pair ran off and escaped on a nearby motorcycle.
They got away with cash, bank cards, and personal items. The woman received no injuries.
Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the Pitts Bay Road and Fairyland Road area or who witnessed the robbery are asked to contact Central CID at 295-0011.
Police were also probing two daytime break-ins on Laurel Lane, Sandys, in which the culprit got away with a quantity of cash.
Sometime on Tuesday one complainant returned home at 4 p.m. to be informed by an acquaintance that there had been a break-in.
She checked her home and found that someone had gained access through an insecure window and had gone through drawers in a bedroom.
At the other property Police found that access had been gained in a similar manner.
A brand new lime-green single seat kayak has been reported stolen from the rear of a boat moored in Hamilton Harbour. The kayak was last seen on Friday.
