Speaking on the television news, the Transport Minister said: "She does not need me to fight her battles, but we are close and she has become exasperated with the lack of deference given to government ministers.

"We are not asking people to bow and scrape, but we do ask that ministers be respected and that includes the Police and everyone else. "Some of it we expected because this is a new thing in Bermuda and people know us on a first name basis.''
