Holiday is for fun lovers
heritage, building up to a frenzy for Monday's May 24 holiday.
Tonight sees an African celebration at St. Paul Centennial Hall on Court Street at 7.30, with participants dressing in African, Caribbean or old Bermudian clothes.
On Sunday at 3 p.m. the Bermuda Regiment band plays at Hamilton City Hall, along with the Bermuda Islands pipe band. In Dockyard, the afternoon will be taken up with jazz and children's activities.
Bermuda Day itself kicks off with the Heritage Cycle Race and the Marathon Derby. The day's events will be officially started by the Premier during celebrations in Bernard Park from 11.30 a.m. to 12.20 p.m.
Meanwhile, Fitted Dinghy racing gets under way at St. George's.
The annual parade starts at 2 p.m. on Front Street, near the corner with Par-La-Ville Road, and wends its way to Bernard Park for more festivities.
