Zelma Jennings, of My Lord's Bay Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to the offence which occurred last month.

She was stopped by Police shortly before 7 p.m. on February 20 on Dutton Avenue in Pembroke.

"The vehicle displayed a sticker showing the car licence expired in April, 1993,'' prosecutor Sgt. Kenrick James said. "But subsequent checks with TCD showed that the licence had expired in March, 1992.'' Jennings' husband, who also appeared in court, admitted he took the sticker from an old car at the Airport.

"I was not working at the time,'' he told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis. "And things were kind of rough for us.'' He told Police he was willing to accept the blame. But his wife was charged because she was driving the car.

Mr. Francis fined Jennings $150 for driving an unlicensed car and $200 for fraudulent use of a licence sticker.
