With some of the longest courses in recent memory the Anarchy team had to fight off competition from Sadiiqi, Sliding Bye and Gripper among a total of nine crews to take the coveted title.

The shifts came fast and furious and big gains and losses were made depending on who was paying attention to the compass.

Anarchy won the final race to finish as national champions with 1-1-2-4-2-1 record, Sadiiqi as runners-up with 2-2-1-1-3-7 and Sliding Bye third on 3-6-4-2-1-2.

After a long delay caused by a lack of wind, the race got underway. The crew of Anarchy found themselves in traffic and tangling with Erin , while Sadiiqi was trapped by Jezebel .

Sliding Bye was doing well on the right and Anarchy was by no means certain of the fourth placed required for overall glory.

After rounding the mark Anarchy played the shifts downwind and with expert boathandling clawed back the distance and crossed the line just ahead of Sliding Bye .

The second race saw a stronger breeze with more chop and by the last downwind leg Anarchy was just ahead of Sadiiqi with a pack of boats further back.

Anarchy had to work hard to retain the lead but with flawless crew-work they managed to hold on and prevent Sadiiqi stealing the breeze.

Day two began with lighter breezes with the start placed just off Cavello Bay.

The crew of Sadiiqi edged out Sliding Bye in the first race to take the lead in the series.

The following race saw Sliding Bye take first by a whisker from Anarchy and Sadiiqi and it was all down to the last event.
