Mr. Jeremy Cox, a civil servant with the Registrar of Companies, has qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), through Government sponsorship.
The Government sponsorship programme for civil servants includes payment of salary and full sponsorship on courses here and abroad.
Mr. Cox, 32, who needed just two courses to finish his programme, has been working in the insurance division of the Registrar's office.
There are currently 10 bursary students abroad, bonded to return to Government service following their studies. There are also 26 trainees working in various Government departments while they become qualified in areas such as personnel, architecture, engineering, accounting and law.
*** Coutts & Co. (Bermuda) Ltd. has announced the appointment of Ms Michelle Wolfe to its board of directors. Ms Wolfe joins Mr. David Titcombe who has been a director of the company since its incorporation.
Mr. John Ritchie, managing director of the company since 1992, leaves the board upon his retirement.
