Four-Ball tied at the top
in blustery conditions but still found themselves in a tie at the top after yesterday's second round of the annual Bermuda Men's Four-Ball Golf Championships at Port Royal.
Their overnight three shot lead was wiped out by visitors Buddy Reed and Mike Hall, two scratch handicappers who added a 73 to their opening 72.
The two teams are even at the half-way mark on 145 but a number of pairs are breathing down their necks as the tournament goes into the final 36 holes.
Defending champions Tim Carr and Joey McRonald remained in the hunt after a 75 yesterday which left them just one shot behind the leaders on 146. And with the same score are former winners Henry Ascento and Bill Pitt who combined for a 74. Two strokes further back are Max Atherden and Ian Page who repeated their opening day 74 for 148.
On the opening day of the women's 54-hole championships, locals Sue Holland and Pat Morgan had the best round of 80.
But just two shots back are visitors Sandra Fredericks and Pam Avallone while Louise Payne and Ann Symonds fired an 83 to move into contention.
