The Zebras came out with all guns blazing and their opponents turned out to be easy prey.

At Southampton Oval yesterday another nightmare unfolded for Dennis Brown and his Someset Trojans when they were humiliated by Kyle Lightbourne's squad just a week after suffering a devastating 4-1 home loss to Devonshire Colts.

Coach Brown must be wondering what is it going to take to stop the bleeding - judging by this performance the solution does not lie in the immediate future, because they looked simply horrible.

This Premier Division contest saw the Zebras dominate from start to finish, leaving the Trojans no opportunity to fight back after striking two early goals and setting the tune of play for the entire afternoon.

While the visitors could find no answer for their sub-standard performance, it was cool sailing for the Zebras who actually could have walked away with an even more one-sided victory had substitute Cecoy Robinson been sharper with his finishing late in the game.

The Trojans were in no mental condition to deal with the wave of pressure they were put under early, the Zebras' underlining their supremacy from the opening whistle and never really taking their foot off the throttle.

Victory was almost assured by the half when PHC had taken a comfortable 3-0 lead with hard-working midfielder Chris Furbert striking after seven minutes and Dennis Russell making it 2-0 after 13 minutes.

Left winger Jeff Franklin made it 3-0 after 41 minutes and between the second and third tally there were several close calls for the Zebras with Franklin and Russell directing shots on goal.

All the Trojans could manage was a superb effort by striker Rodney Bascome, this coming after 34 minutes when his blast from 15 yards forced Jay Smith in the Zebras goal to dive full length to his left to sensationally push the effort wide for a corner. Besides that effort the Trojans attack was tame and lacking ideas.

Franklin's goal really knocked the stuffing out of Trojans who were left deflated after goalkeeper Adrian Burrows spilled a cross by Barry allowing Franklin to tap it in from close range.

Whatever pep talk Dennis Brown offered his Trojans didn't translate into anything positive on the pitch when play restarted because it was Lightbourne's men who continued to hold the whip hand.

Within the first 10 minutes substitute Cecoy Robinson had only just missed with a lob while Burrows was off his line and then Franklin forced the 'keeper to make a good save from 15 yards.

But the inevitable fourth goal came after 56 minutes when Franklin chipped over the advancing Burrows and from then onwards, it was virtually one-way traffic.

Raynel Lightbourne netted the fifth from the penalty spot after Trojans' skipper Jelani Scott brought down Chris Furbert. Furbert then scored the sixth from close in after 76 minutes and Cecoy Robinson got the seventh right at the end.

Both teams were reduced a man after 77 minutes when Blenn Bean of Zebras and Trojans' Rodre Wilson were caught shoving each other.

Lloyd Holder and Heys Wolfe each netted a brace to give Hornets a comfortable win over cellar dwellers Ireland Rangers at St. John's Field.

Holder opened the scoring for the home team after 10 minutes before Wolfe struck twice before the half to put Hornets firmly in the driver's seat.

Wolfe, who transferred to Town from Devonshire Cougars two seasons ago, missed a golden opportunity to score a hat-trick from the penalty spot as 'keeper Ricky Tucker dived to his right to foil the midfielder's spot-kick.

But there would be no denying Holder who grabbed Hornets' fourth before Chris Anderson added his name to the scoresheet to complete the rout.

Jonathan Bean netted Rangers' consolation.
