Bermuda's Draft Parliamentary Register currently has 5,000 fewer names than appeared on the final register for 1993/94.
But, according to Government Registrar Marlene Christopher, the drop isn't unusual.
Figures released this week showed that Pembroke East Central had recorded the largest decrease with 570 fewer voters, while Warwick East was next with 433.
"It is not unusual that we don't have the full number of registered voters at this time,'' Mrs. Christopher said. "Last year (at this time) we had 28,000 people register and ended up with 34,506 on the final list.'' A total of 29,364 people have so far registered compared to 28,562 during the same period last year.
All those who have already sent in registration forms should now check the draft register to make sure they are registered under the correct name, address and constituency.
Any errors should be pointed out to the Parliamentary Registrar by May 1.
The Draft Parliamentary Register will be available for inspection from Monday, April 4, at all post offices, Police stations, libraries and the office of the Parliamentary Registrar.
The final document will be available in June.
