Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning yesterday said Police were kept busy over the weekend with some 19 accidents.

Seventeen of those accidents took place on Saturday and five of them involved injuries.

But P.c. Venning said no-one was seriously hurt in any of the mishaps.

Between a two-hour period during noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday eight accidents took place. Three more fender-benders occurred between 4 and 6 p.m. that same day.

Two accidents, involving injury, were reported on Sunday morning. Once again, no-one was seriously hurt.

P.c. Venning said heavy rain and flooded roads were contributing factors in many of the weekend accidents.
