Bank stocks bounce back
index up 145.311 points or 8.84 percent for the week, closing at 1,643.03.
Share volume was 284,824, valued at $5,521,089.88.
Bank of Bermuda gained $6 (17.65 percent) during that period, closing at a record $40 on a volume of 35,601. Also significantly appreciating were Bank of Bermuda warrants, which climbed $4.50 (39.13 percent) to $16 on a volume of 8,293.
Bank of Butterfield finished the week a dollar higher (up 6.67 percent) at $16 after 220,111 shares changed hands.
Meanwhile, Bermuda Home 8% Pref. shares fell 50 cents (four percent) to $12 after trading of 228 shares. Also down was BELCO Holdings, one dollar lower (4.35 percent) at $22 on a volume of 11,607. Bermuda Telephone Co. fell $1.875 to $33 after 8,767 shares changed hands.
Unchanged was Masters Ltd. at $9 on a volume of 217.
