The 16-year-old was surprised when officers found him hiding behind an office building with the cycle at about 3 a.m. on Saturday.

On seeing the Police, he tried to run from behind the building in Church Street but was pursued and arrested.

He was taken to Hamilton Police Station, where he was searched and questioned before being released on Police bail.
