A 27-year-old St. George's man was set upon by about five men shortly after 4 a.m. in a parking lot on Dundonald Street, Hamilton, and was stabbed with a knife by one of the men.

Before a member of the public came to his aid, the man was punched and kicked about the body. A motive for the attack is not known at this time.

The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

And while at the hospital dealing with that matter, Police were alerted to serious head injuries to a 31-year-old man, allegedly caused in another assault.

Although details are sketchy, the man was picked up by ambulance around 4.15 a.m. in the Friswell's Hill area.

Among the many changes announced, there are new chairmen at the Broadcasting Commissioners, Board of Education, Bermuda College and the Telecommunications Commission.

Cricket official Elvin James takes the helm at the Board of Education from Debby Graham. Former football hero and headmaster Randy Horton is in charge at Bermuda College, following the departure of Brian Hall. Still on education, new MP the Rev. Wilbur Lowe is chairman replacing Kim Raymond White. Neletha Butterfield sits on the Treatment of Offenders Board along with Ralph Commissiong. Chairman Austin Thomas remains and another new addition is lawyer Phil Perinchief. At the West End Development Co, chairman Scott Hunter is replaced by Sandys South MP Walter Lister. The Bermuda Monetary Authority has Cheryl Lister as the chairman, replacing Mansfield Brock.

New at the head of the Bermuda Arts Council is Mrs. Carolee Trott, replacing Dr. Charles Vincent Zuill.
