accepts a pledge for $5,000 from Sun Life Financial Services General Manager Michael Lima. The gift was made after a BFIS fund raising dinner aimed at increasing the insurance communities awareness of the aims and objectives of the foundation. Since autumn 1997, BFIS has awarded a total of $325,000 to students studying insurance or actuarial science. The foundation currently has nine students under scholarship -- three at Bermuda College, one at the US College of Insurance in New York and another at the US University of Hartford.
