assault which took place early yesterday morning.

Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said a 30-year-old Pembroke woman said she was detained against her will by an acquaintance at a Hamilton Parish residence shortly before 6 a.m.

After the woman was sexually assaulted, she managed to break free, smash a window with a chair and escape.

Police arrested a Pembroke man in connection with this incident. Police inquiries are continuing.
