Alicia Benevides of Khyber Heights, Warwick was severely bitten on her cheek, head and chest by a neighbour's Akita dog as she was playing outside her house on Thursday evening.

Both families are expected to meet today to discuss whether the 10-year-old dog should be destroyed.
