Police work all out to solve burglaries
series of break-ins in Smith's and Hamilton parishes.
They have launched a major hunt for housebreakers following a run of daylight break-ins at homes.
And they have warned residents to make sure their houses are safe.
The warning came as details were revealed of another break-in in Hamilton Parish. An intruder got through an insecure window on Thursday morning and ransacked the master bedroom, getting away with a $80 and a large amount of jewellery.
Police said the haul, from a house on Cedar Berry Drive, included a gold turquoise ring with three turquoise stones, a gold bracelet with carnival mask charms, gold wishbone stud earrings, gold Chinese charm earrings and a gold Seiko watch.
That afternoon a thief also tried to break into a home in Jennings Land.
Police spokesman Sgt. John Dale said: "There have been a number of daytime break-ins in Smiths and Hamilton parishes in recent weeks. Detectives are working all out to solve them.
"Please assist by making your home secure and by watching out for your neighbours whilst they are out.
"Please call 297-1122 with any information.''
