The alleged theft occurred at about 7.15 p.m. on Friday at Lines Food and Liquor Store, Ord Road, Warwick.

Police say the suspect escaped from the store, despite being challenged by a customer, staff member and the proprietor. He was later arrested by Police.

Meanwhile, Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted theft at Burrows Lightbourn liquor store on Somerset Road in Sandys last week.

The incident occurred around 6.15 p.m. when a male employee at the store was serving a customer.

A man approached the counter and snatched an undisclosed amount of money while the till was open.
