Man stabbed in club fight
the stomach during a fight at Devonshire Recreation Club over the weekend.
The victim became involved in a confrontation with two other men, whom he knows, and was stabbed at about 3 a.m. on Saturday, a Police spokesman said.
The victim is in serious condition with a collapsed lung and is expected to remain in hospital for several days.
Police said they found the victim at Orchard Grove, Pembroke, lying bleeding in the middle of the road.
The violence flared up following a late night reggae jam session at the club.
Police have interviewed several people in connection with the attack and enquiries are continuing.
Neighbours who called The Royal Gazette said the victim ran to a house near the club, pleading for someone to call an ambulance.
Residents called The Royal Gazette yesterday to complain about the noise and inconvenience caused by the music sessions held at the club.
"It's getting really annoying. There's loud music -- they're parking and blocking people's gateways and the violence is getting out of hand,'' said one neighbour, who asked not to be named.
"When they come out there's loud talking and more loud music. They stopped them a while back but its been going on again for about a month.'' The neighbour said: "I was on my way and the victim came running to me first but I was going home. He then ran to a neighbour.''
