fine in Magistrates' Court.

Stephen McCallan, of Texas Road in St. David's, pleaded guilty to driving without due care on April 9, when Police saw him overtake on the inside of a line of traffic during rush hour.

He also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified at that time. He was taken off the road last year for speeding but allowed to keep an intermediate truck licence. He told acting Senior Magistrate Edward King: "I'm sorry for the offence. I was just trying to do a job.'' Mr. King said: "You should've used a truck to do the job.'' McCallan admitted he did not think about it at the time. Mr. King fined him $650 for driving while disqualified and $350 for driving without due care.

McCallan was given until May 31 to pay both fines or serve 120 days for driving while disqualified and 42 days for driving without due care, consecutively.

He was allowed to keep his intermediate truck licence.
