Spouse case continues

committing serious sexual assault on his wife and causing her bodily harm.

The nephew of the victim and his wife who claimed they discovered the 52-year-old man lying on his wife and choking her with his hands last August both testified for the Crown yesterday.

Police Insp. Coughlin Gibbons also took the witness stand.

He said he arrived outside the victim's Devonshire apartment with two other officers following the alleged assault on August 18.

Outside the building he saw the complainant, her nephew, his wife and the accused. All four appeared agitated, he said, particularly the nephew who was angry.

Mr. Khamisi Tokunbo, assisted by Mr. Melvin Douglas is represents the Crown.

Mr. Archibald Warner acts for the defence. The trial continues today.
