Dandy Town 4 Devonshire Colts 3

were enough to give Dandy Town victory over Devonshire Colts in a Crystal Palace Youth Cup semifinal at Bernard Park.

However Dandy Town had to absorb a lot of pressure in the second half as Colts stormed back and were unlucky not to grab the equaliser after scoring three times to pull to within a goal of their opponents.

Dandy Town took a decisive 4-0 lead early on goals by Symonds after four minutes, Hypolite after 19 minutes, Gilbert after 23 minutes and Symonds again after 24 minutes. But their determined opponents refused to throw in the towel and they pulled one back through Julian Francis after 34 minutes.

The tempo changed in the second half with Colts finally finding their touch and pinning down the Dandy Town defence for long spells, but time and time again chances were missed with Aljame Zuill and Jermaine Aberdeen being the chief culprits.

Colts threatened to draw level after goals by Damon Ming after 57 minutes, Zuill after 66 minutes and Julian Francis after 74 minutes, but the Dandy Town defence held firm.
