Parents of twins and triplets get together
open-air get together.
All parents of twins, triplets or even more, are being invited to attend a social afternoon organised by the newly founded Bermuda Mothers of Multiples.
The group was formed last May to foster friendship and communication between families of twins and triplets and to share information about being their parents.
"Mothers and fathers of multiple-birth children face many unique challenges,'' said BMOM committee member Cheryl Green.
She added: "Having more than one baby at a time is a source of great joy, but also a great deal of stress.
"Getting together with other mothers allows us to exchange ideas, talk out problems and simply find a friendly ear in people who have been through similar experiences.'' Among the BMOM goals are to offer support to parents, hold events for mothers, fathers and children to get together, collect information helpful to new parents and research the incidence of twins in Bermuda.
It also aims to educate people to treat twins as individuals and to encourage local businesses to offer discounts to parents of twins or triplets. The get together will take place at the Botanical Gardens on Sunday, October 27, from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Anyone who would like to attend the event should contact Cheryl Green on 238 1237.
