Cards galore!

the new Hallmark department on the Phoenix Centre's second floor. Soft music, an unhurried atmosphere and a wiiiide selection of cards and gift accessories have many patrons wondering whether they've been transported off the Island.

According to Linda Brinchi, the department manager, they've merely been given what they hoped for. "Our goal for the new Hallmark department was to have plenty of selection, and new and better items for the customer,'' she explained. "We moved because we wanted to be larger and to have more variety.

Compared to downstairs, we have doubled our products and probably even more than doubled the amount of cards we have. We look more like an actual Hallmark store in the States than we did when we were downstairs; we now have their layout and more of their products.'' The new area boasts better products and a bigger line of cards including 120 feet of birthday and general cards; 28 feet of Shoebox specialty cards; 12 feet of Bermuda cards with plans for expansion; 16 feet of `imprompt' cards verbalising everything from `I miss you' to `thank you'; 20 feet of seasonal cards, and many more. Gift bags, wrapping paper, stationery and photo albums are also available as are 22 feet of gifts and novelty items, helium balloons for all occasions and 24 feet consisting simply of party supplies such as candles, party invitations, plates and hats. The greeting card department is now located across from the Bookmart. PHOENIX BUSINESS BUC
