The Bermuda Bar Association ran out of time when discussing the issue at its annual general meeting last month.
New association president Mr. John Cooper said: "We hope to see the matter resolved this time.'' The motion to scrap the system of appointing attorneys as QCs was put forward by senior lawyer and Environment Minister the Hon. Ann Cartwright DeCouto.
She wants lawyers to vote by secret ballot to end the system which she has labelled "intellectually dishonest''.
Mrs. Cartwright DeCouto claims good lawyers have been turned down for the title, while mediocre ones have received it.
