Four men injured in knife fight

And two of the injured received slashes to their faces in the latest in a number of incidents at the popular night club, according to Police.

A Police spokesperson said: "Apparently a member of the Spinning Wheel staff was escorting a patron off the premises when the fight broke out.'' Most seriously hurt was a 28-year-old man from Southampton who received multiple facial slashes and a fractured hand and a 38-year-old man who received knife wounds to his face. A 37-year-old Pembroke man and a 27-year-old Smith's man received a knife wounds to their upper arms.

All four men were treated and released from the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Saturday. All the men spoke to the Police but did not wish to pursue the matter at the time.

The Police spokesperson said: "It is a problem down there. It is a popular nightclub. There are hundreds of people there until it closes at 3 a.m.

"Problems are not unexpected where a lot of people gather late at night like this.''
