Village book final berth

Champions North Village booked a return to the Crystal Palace youth soccer final when they eased past PHC in the semi-final at Southampton Oval yesterday.

All the goals came in the second half with Jameiko Jennings and Jamie Smith giving Village a 2-0 lead within eight minutes of the restart before Kua Dowling pulled one back for the young Zebras after 55 minutes.

Then two more goals in the space of three minutes put the match out of PHC's reach as Devon DeGraffe made it 3-1 from a corner on the left in the 61st minute and Kaya Darrell hit the fourth soon after with a left foot shot inside the post.

Ricardo Brangman in the North Village goal made a couple of fine saves to prevent a PHC fightback.

Village, who beat Somerset in last year's final, will meet the winners of the BAA and Wolves semi-final to be played at the weekend.
