Award for CedarBridge
for having the most pupils participate in the Bermuda End to End annual charity walk.
CedarBridge Academy was honoured for having the most students participate in last weekend's walk with a total of 40 young walkers who raised a grand sum of $4,500. This year, 170 young people under the age of 18 took part in the walk and raised $15,475, compared to the 99 pupils who participated last year and raised $7,000.
Other schools with large groups of youngsters taking part were Berkeley Institute, Bermuda High School for Girls, Northlands, Saltus and Warwick Academy.
As part of its sponsorship and support for the charity walk, the Bank of Bermuda has matched youth pledges up to $5,000.
Karen Madeiros, events and promotions officer for the bank, said: "We're particularly encouraged that so many young people participated in the Youth Invasion walk this year. This is the third year that we have held our Youth Invasion competition and each year the numbers keep growing. The End to End walk is an excellent way to support several of Bermuda's charities, while enjoying the natural beauty of Bermuda at the same time.'' EDUCATION ED
