First Division -- Social Club 2 Ire.Rangers 3
coming out 3-2 victors away to Social Club during a lively affair at Bernard Park.
Rangers looked to have matters well at hand, after surging to a 2-0 lead at half-time, courtesy of spectacular strike from the boot of Duane DeRosa, and another from hard-working midfielder Sean Symons.
However, those notions were soon erased in the second half as Tokia Russell soon reduced the arrears to one, and the equaliser followed soon after.
The visitors found more ammunition by bringing Jonathan Bean off the bench, and he immediately stamped coach Mike Corday as a genius for making the move, netting the winner.
Rangers, who moved to 13 points as a result of the victory, thus remain in striking distance of leaders St. George's and second-place Paget for one of two possible promotion spots.
Paget 0 St. George's 3 First Division leaders St. George's strengthened their promotion hopes when they brushed off closest rivals Paget at White Hill Field. Making a major contribution to the demolishment of home side was young forward Kyle Williams who scored twice while veteran Herbie Bascome got the other goal for the eastenders.
Paget were competitive for most of the first half and delayed St. George's opening goal until the 37th minute when Williams hit his first. Bascome got the second four minutes later to give them a comfortable 2-0 lead at the half.
Paget were pinned in their half for most of the second half but conceded just one goal -- from Williams after 81 minutes.
St. David's 5 Eagles 2 St. David's had an easy time against the fading Eagles, winning comprehensively at Lord's after holding a 2-1 advantage at the half.
Aaron Crockwell and Otis Minors gave the eastenders their first-half goals with Steven Burrows replying for Eagles.
Minors, Aaron Lugo and Keenan Butterfield added three more for the home side in the second half while Eagles could only respond with a late goal from Daron Dowling.
The other game between Hamilton Parish and Boulevard was not played after a mix-up over venues. The players reported to St. John's Field, home of Boulevard, while the referee went to Lord's the home of Parish.
