Planning Director sought
The Ministry of the Environment is taking applications to replace outgoing Director of Planning, Brian Rowlinson who is set to become the Ministry's permanent secretary.
The $104,218 a year Director's job is responsible for the operation of the department including the control of development, building control, forward planning, and general administration.
The Director advises the Minister on all matters of planning, land use management and development, and is also responsible for liaising with the public, media, and other Ministries.
Applicants must hold a degree in planning with eligibility for full membership in professional organisations and have further qualifications in either architecture, planning, engineering or management.
Applicants must have at least ten years working experience in Planning and proven management skills.
The Director of Planning sits on the meetings of the Development Applications Board and is an ex-officio member of the West End Development Company.
