The controversial bridge was still closed to marine traffic last night as Works and Engineering continue to assess the problem.

Works and Engineering Minister Alex Scott said last night that Government will be billing the United States, which has responsibility for maintenance of the bridge until 2040, for the cost of incident.

In the meantime, the British Government is continuing to press Washington to either replace the bridge or give Bermuda the estimated $15 million needed to build a new structure.
