Government has applied for planning permission to expand and renovate the baggage and customs halls.
Transport Minister Wayne Furbert said: "It will be a very attractive place when we've finished -- and the flow of traffic should be much better.'' He said the baggage area would receive new conveyor belts and new outside canopies would be extended over the area currently used for the taxi rank.
A new area inside will be created to allow people awaiting passengers to stand inside the Airport.
