NAR offers scholarship
College are invited to apply for the Richards-Minors Scholarship, being offered by the National Association for Reconciliation.
Applicants are required to submit an essay between 1,000 and 1,500 words on "social justice'' or "the responsibility of the more fortunate to be concerned about those who are less fortunate''.
Essays can be forwarded to the NAR, P.O. Box 2662, Hamilton, HMKX, before June 15. Follow up interviews will follow. The NAR is asking school principals to draw their student's attention to this opportunity.
The scholarship has been set up in memory of Christopher Edward Trenton Richards and Reginald Stuart Russell Minors, both who died two years ago while in their early 20's.
The NAR's Dr. Eva Hodgson earlier told The Royal Gazette the Association wanted to preserve the memory and ideals of Mssrs. Minors and Richards through the scholarship as well as an annual lecture featuring the winning essay writer.
