Bishop Ming hospitalised

closing conference of the African Methodist Episcopal conference in St. Paul Centennial Hall, Hamilton.

An ambulance crew was called to take Bishop Ming to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after he began feeling ill around 6 p.m.

Reverend Lorne Bean of St. Paul AME said last night that Bishop Ming is "satisfactory''.

Bishop Ming is the first Bermudian to be appointed Bishop of the 1st District of the AME, which includes Bermuda, Philadelphia and Delaware.

BIU President Derrick Burgess, who was in the hall, said last night: "People were definitely concerned for him. He didn't collapse, but I would say he took sick during the service.''
