Richards, of Prism Heights, was accused in Magistrates' Court on Friday of being the owner of a black Rottweiller and a black and white crossbreed that killed Marsh Andrew's two rabbits on March 15.

But Richards said his dogs were tied up and that there were other Rottweillers in the neighbourhood. The case will be tried on December 1.
