Police probe blue palm tree theft
A thief this weekend stole a coconut palm tree -- which had been painted blue.
He struck at a property on Scaur Hill sometime last week. Western CID officers noted the tree and nuts were "easily identifiable''.
Meanwhile, if Police catch a bag thief he may soon be back at the scene of the crime -- Magistrates' Court.
The thief took advantage on a woman's moment of inattention. The woman was at the court on Friday afternoon around 1 p.m. when she rested a bag containing a bank bag on a chair while attending to business.

The victim reported to Police he was walking on Court Street around 10.15 p.m.
when he was approached from behind.
He was grabbed by the neck and the culprit demanded money which was handed over in the wallet. The culprit removed the cash and then fled the area. But his victim was able to provide Police with a description.
CONSTRUCTION TOOLS STOLEN FROM SHED CRM Construction tools stolen from shed Police will have their work cut out for them probing the theft of construction tools from a shed possibly as far back as November.
The tools were kept at a site on Ft. St. George's Road and were found to be missing last week.
Meanwhile, a woman lost a wallet and a friend's handbag after she locked her car and went into the Hamilton Parish Workmen's Club on Workmen's Lane around 8 p.m. on Friday. The culprit had made a "forced entry'' into the car. And a heater and camera were stolen from a Mill Shares Road, Pembroke home sometime on Friday.
